Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) is a tough, versatile elastomer, making it ideal for many applications. TPU is inherently soft and generally requires no plasticizers. The hardness or softness of thermoplastic polyurethane remains relatively constant over a wide temperature range for extended periods of time. TPU is easily formed and fabricated by conventional methods and is receptive to RF welding.
For further functionality we laminate TPU and TPU blend films with other films (dual durometer) and fabrics to create new properties.
We offer TPU blends with other polymers for tailored performance:
- TPU + PC: good clarity and improved elongation and resistance to solvents and stress compared to polycarbonate.
- TPU + PETG: Clear, RF weldable, and versatile.
- TPU + MABS: Great low temperature properties, cut resistance, and clarity. Often used as protective surfaces on outdoor sports gear.
